Indian Rummy is one such game and it has been the peoples game acting as a catalyst in developing friendships and carmaraderie. The game is universally popular and played by people of various ages.

Rummy 500

This type is known by many names and some popular ones are 500 Rummy, Pinochle Rummy and Persian Rummy. The scoring is quite different from regular rummy as points are awarded for melded cards and lost for unmelded once. If you like to pick cards from the discard pile then Rummy 500 is the game for you.

Knock Rummy

It is a unique form of rummy as it can only accommodate 5 players at most. Popularly known as Poker Rummy, the game holds a very huge following in South America and in some parts of West Indies. A standard deck of 52 cards is used while a double deck is used when more than five players are playing. An Ace is counted as a single point while all the face cards carry 10 points each, and the  remaining ones are counted according to their pip value. The score board ticks in the favor player with lowest points. If a player completes his set of all cards than he gets away with another 25 points. Further, if the player or knocker doesn’t have the lowest count, then the person has to pay the price with another 10 points. So before you call out Rummy, be absolutely sure of your cards.

Continental Rummy

Rummy is a family game and the continental type is all about enjoying the game within a group. As much as 12 people can enjoy the game together. The scoring is based on the fact that each player is dealt 15 cards in sets of threes and the objective of winning is to form sets and runs from all cards. The player who holds the least points is marked as the winner and takes the game.

Indian Rummy

Indian Rummy is a highly prevalent card game in the Asian continent.  It is played with 2 decks of cards with a joker from each deck. Each joker is randomly selected and has a major role in how the game turns out. This type is considered to be the most simple of Rummy variants.

Gin Rummy

It is the most played Rummy Games throughout the World. This game was built to take on Poker on a serious note. The game is quick with absolutely plain rules and can be grasped even by a kid. It is played the same way as standard Rummy is played but unlike other Rummy versions it doesn’t require players to display their of meld cards. In this variation, Ace is always the low card so Ace-2-3 is an accepted sequence but Ace King Queen is not.
